June 22 Brevard’s 4th Friday Gallery Walk Enjoy an evening stroll in downtown Brevard, NC as you explore the art galleries, art stores, retail stores and restaurants that are staying open late from 5 pm -8 pm. Experience art, music and wine. Be sure to look for the animal sculptures and the murals located in downtown Brevard as well. Make an evening of it and stop by and have dinner in one of our downtown restaurants. \"Snoopy\" Auditions

Auditions for “Snoopy” will be held at Brevard Little Theatre, 55 East Jordan St, Brevard on June 23-24 from 2-4 PM. Please be at least 8+. Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang relive some of their most memorable times, and Snoopy realizes that his “monotonous” life isn’t so ordinary after all. Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Sally and Linus, with all their antics, show the beagle about his great friendships and fulfilling full-circle life. “Snoopy” was created as a sequel to “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” and opened in 1975 at the Little Fox Theatre in San Francisco. The London Version, which added 4 additional songs, opened at the West End Duchess Theatre on September 20, 1983 and played for 479 performances. Here are the cast requirements: Snoopy - Dog. traditionally written for a boy (tenor) but will consider a girl. Ages 12-35 depending on the rest of the cast. Needs to be able to move well. Woodstock - Snoopy\'s best friend. Silent role with dancing. Must be able to move well. Girl or boy ages 8-30 depending on the rest of the cast Charlie Brown - Snoopy\'s owner. The \"Eeyore\" of the gang. Loveable, underdog type. Boy ages 12-35, tenor. Linus - Voice of reason. He is wise beyond his years (though has an unhealthy attachment to his blanket) and is quick to listen and help his friends. Boy ages 12-35, tenor. Peppermint Patty - Tomboy to the fullest extent. may have a slight crush on Charlie Brown but doesn\'t know how to be girly. Girl, ages 12-35, alto. Lucy - Loud, brassy know-it-all. She is a Queen Bee type. Linus\' sister. Girl, ages 12-35, Soprano with a nice belt. Sally - Charlie Browns little sister. Has a crush on Linus. Innocent and bubbly and inquisitive. Girl, Ages 12-35, Soprano. The show runs for 2 weekends and 8 performances on August 16-19 & 23-26, 2018. Rehearsals begin with a read through on Wednesday, June 27. June 25 – 29 Summer Art Camp The Transylvania Community Arts Council invites youth ages 5-12 years old to explore visual arts, pottery and movement. Morning and afternoon sessions are available. Morning session goes from 9 am – 12 noon and the afternoon session goes from 1 pm – 4 pm. Cost for the weeklong art camp is $125 per child and includes all supplies and snacks. July 4 TC Arts Council’s 46th Annual Fine Arts & Crafts Showcase Part of the City of Brevard’s 150th Birthday Celebration The Transylvania Community Arts Council will present the 46th annual Fine Arts & Crafts Showcase on Main Street during the City of Brevard’s 150th Birthday Celebration and the Heart of Brevard’s 4th of July Celebration. TC Arts Council juries in more than 40+ professional visual artists from the Southeast who sell their artwork on Main Street. The event takes place on Main Street in downtown Brevard, in conjunction with the Heart of Brevard\'s annual 4th of July Celebration and the Transylvania Region AACA Classic Car Show. July 4th Duck Race The Transylvania Community Arts Council has announced its summer fundraiser – a Duck Race for Kids Art Programs. The Duck Race will be held on July 4th at Brevard College near the gymnasium on Kings Creek. Ducks will launch at 6 pm. With every duck you sponsor, you’ll help TC Arts Council provide scholarships to art camps, pottery camps and provide more Arts In Schools Programming for K-12 in Transylvania County. Fill out your sponsor form today! Then come to the race on July 4th at 6 pm at King’s Creek at Brevard College and cheer on your duck to victory! You do not have to be present to win. Winners will be contacted by TC Arts. Each duck cost a donation of $5 each or $25 for six ducks and $100 for 25 ducks. The winning ducks will compete for prizes from local merchants including $250. Youth Pottery Camp July 9 - 13

July 9 – 13 Youth Pottery Camp @ TC Arts The Transylvania Community Arts Council and their pottery program Transylvania Ceramic Arts will present a week long pottery camp for kids aged 6 – 14. The first camp will run Monday thru Friday from July 9 - 13 with am and pm sessions. The am session will go from 9 am – 12 noon and the pm session will go from 1 pm – 4 pm. The second week of pottery camp will be offered July 23 – 27. Students will explore clay with hand building techniques and the older students will have a chance to try wheel-throwing.
