What started as a hobby has blossomed into a passion. Various natural resources and different embellishments spur my interests and imagination. My most recent pieces have bases of agate, jasper, petrified wood or the fossil ammonite, nautilus. How to capture diffent elements and combine them into a Woven Work of Art to hold one's interest is a satisfying challenge. Received 4 grants to help my career along: 2 from the Arts Council of Transylvania County and 2 from the Southern Highlands Guild of North Carolina. Bonne Jean has been a Basketmaker since 1984 and has also been an instructor at the Brevard College and John C. Campbell Folk School.
