The Transylvania Heritage Coalition brought Brevard Old Time Street Dances back. The tradition of bluegrass music and square dancing returned to Brevard in 1998 after a lapse of over 30 years. The dances feature Roy Chapman and his True Bluegrass Band and are called by Tony Dotson. Everyone is welcome to come and dance or just listen. No experience is needed. These events are fun for the entire family from tots to grandparents. The dances are paid for by donations from local merchants and individuals. They are held on Tuesday nights for eight weeks, starting the end of June and continuing through the middle of August. Join us on Main Street in front of the gazebo, music starts at 6:30 pm and dancing starts at 7:00 pm.
