Our summer festival includes over 80 opera, chamber, and orchestra performances over seven weeks each summer. Brevard Music Center
students, faculty, and guest artists perform a variety of concerts that
range from baroque and classical, to modern and pops. The Music
Center's relaxed setting and scenic beauty make it the perfect place to
enjoy performances throughout the summer.
Over the past 78
seasons, BMC stages have welcomed some of the world's best soloists
including Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, and more. Orchestra
concerts give audiences the opportunity to hear unforgettable
performances of true masterpieces.
Chamber music concerts present
the opportunity to hear Brevard's world-renowned faculty performing in
an intimate setting. Concerts include well-known and less frequently
performed works that appeal to a variety of musical tastes.
Janiec Opera Company presents three fully-staged operas and one opera
workshop each season. Performances include classic operas such as Madame
Butterfly, Don Giovanni, and La Bohemia as well as more modern works
such as Albert Herring and Sweeney Todd. Our Opera In A Box workshop
series gives audiences the chance to see composers and performers
collaborate to bring a work in progress to life through special, lightly

are presented free of charge. Audiences can enjoy student piano
recitals, chamber performances at the Transylvania County Library, New
Music concerts, and performances by our high school voice students.
summer festival also includes our BMC Presents series, bringing
non-classical artists to Music Center stages. Past performers have
included Mary Chapin Carpenter, Peter, Paul and Mary, Garrison Keillor,
Marvin Hamlisch, and more.
