Welcome to the Arts of Brevard, the official Arts Website, Artist Directory, and portal for Brevard, North Carolina and Transylvania County, maintained and sponsored by the Transylvania Community Arts Council.  The TC Arts Council will be "Celebrating 25 years of Creativity" in 2010. Please enjoy this site as you explore the many types of art produced by Transylvania County artists. The links on the left and above will easily take you to the artists' portfolios, the arts venues and businesses, and the year-round calendar of arts events. You can even create and print an itinerary for easy referral.

Known as the "Land of Waterfalls", this beautiful part of the Blue Ridge Mountains has become an oasis for fine artists and culture lovers like you. We are proud to offer 262 ART EVENTS a year in Translyvania County. For those of you who enjoy the visual arts, Brevard is home to numerous galleries in this walkable community. Our popular 4th Friday Gallery Walk is a fun way to see the works of our local artists ranging from the world-renowned to emerging talents. All media and styles are represented here: from contemporary to traditional, from painting to fine crafts. Don't forget to tour our 16 award-winning downtown sculptures and five murals while enjoying the mountain town ambience. And for an enjoyable drive, make sure you venture out on the Scenic 276 South arts corridor with studios and galleries winding up the mountain. The studios are open all year round and come together twice a year for the Scenic 276 South Studio Tour in May and October.

If you like music, we are home to the world-renowned Brevard Music Center where classical artists from around the globe come to perform. The Porter Center for the Performing Arts, on the campus of Brevard College, has year-round performances by well-known artists as well. Our own Brevard Orchestra Association/Brevard Philharmonic and Brevard Community Band present concerts throughout the year. The Silvermont Opportunity Center, Celestial Mountain Music and Lake Toxaway Community Center all host music jams. And our wonderful restaurants support the arts with nightly entertainment by local and regional musical artists. 

Theatre lovers will enjoy the year-round productions of  Brevard Little Theatre  while dance enthusiasts will enjoy our summertime street dances. Our local library and literary arts organizations host literary arts events throughout the year.
